Black Périgord
The Périgord Noir, the jewel in the crown of the Dordogne, offers a multitude of must-see sites to explore. Start with the famous Lascaux caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where impressive prehistoric frescoes plunge you into the history of mankind.
Then visit Sarlat-la-Canéda, a medieval town where cobbled streets, golden stone houses and a bustling market make it a must-see destination.
Don’t miss the Château de Castelnaud, majestically perched on a hill, offering panoramic views and a museum on the art of warfare in the Middle Ages. The Marqueyssac hanging gardens, with their sculpted boxwoods, promise a romantic stroll in an exceptional setting.

Green Périgord

Périgord Blanc, located in the heart of the Dordogne, is a region enchanted by its varied landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Sports and outdoor activities
- Hiking: many routes are listed at the Mussidan tourist office. But we must mention the GR 654 long-distance hiking trail, the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, which crosses the Dordogne from north to south, passing through Douville, 4.5 km from the campsite (Thiviers, Négrondes, Périgueux, Douville, Bergerac).
- Tennis: tennis courts in the village.
- Motorcyclists: the winding roads of the Dordogne make for great rides, discovering magnificent landscapes with exceptional charm.
- Cycling will also take you to some beautiful sites.
- Sail on the Vézère or Dordogne rivers in a barge, canoe, paddle or kayak.
